LESSON 01 · THE BIG PICTURE
A digital presence is the connected set of places and experiences where people discover, assess, and interact with your work. It is more than a website or a social account.
Begin with the person you serve
- Describe one real audience group in plain language.
- Name the problem, need, or task they bring to you.
- List the words they might use when looking for help.
Clarify your value
- What do you provide?
- Who is it for?
- What useful difference can a customer expect? Avoid promises you cannot prove.
Choose a primary action
- Decide what a ready visitor should do: understand an offer, contact you, book a conversation, or explore a resource.
- Make that action easy to find and explain what happens next.
Map the journey
- Discovery: where might a person first encounter you?
- Evaluation: what proof or information helps them decide?
- Action: what is the next step, and is it clear on mobile?
A 20-minute presence audit
- Write your audience and value statement in one sentence each.
- List every active channel and its purpose.
- Check that your name, offer, contact details, and links agree.
- Choose the biggest point of confusion and write one fix.
Key takeaway
A clear presence helps the right person understand what you offer and what to do next.
